The Malt Shovel is an attractive green-painted pub that curves around the lower end of
Cockburn Street as it climbs from the New Town to the Old.

Internally you find a series of levels, ascending from the bar at one end through a
number of areas of seating. This is not an old pub or a traditional pub: but it is friendly and
comfortable, and well placed for the railway station and all of Edinburgh's amenities.
