Tiles is located on the south side of St Andrews Square, the main square at the east end of George Street, in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town.

The building it occupies once provided the offices for Prudential Insurance in Edinburgh. And what remarkably splendid and opulent offices they must have been. It is increasingly common for financial institutions to move to more practical accommodation in the information age, leaving wonderful buildings like this one to find new uses and - as here - be appreciated by a rather larger audience than would once have been the case.
